Tanya Spencer Intro

Writing is my passion.  My obsession.  The one thing I can do for hours on end without knowing if success will ever come from it.  Or if anyone besides my critique group members will ever set eyes on my pages.  I’m Tanya Spencer, and I’m a young adult writer.

Bailey Tucker is the main character in my young adult novel, Visions, which is complete. And I’m currently writing her 2nd book, so the story goes on . . .

Visions Overview

Fifteen-year-old Bailey Tucker is spunky, athletic and lives in the Rocky Mountains, where she’s always idolized the Southern Ute Indians. And she has the gift of visions – a family inheritance she knew nothing about until now. The visions could help her realize a life-long dream of making police detective, but when word gets out, Bailey questions the motives of some people cozying up to her. And she’s irritated that Kai, a long-haired Southern Ute, wants to stay as far away from her and her visions as he can.

Bailey believes Kai saved her from drowning in the river, which he rudely denies. But Bailey knows Kai is guarding a secret and vows to uncover it. She can’t stop thinking about him, and has a recurring vision of a shared passionate kiss. How that will happen Bailey doesn’t know because Kai believes tribal members should only date and marry within the tribe. Just when Bailey feels like she’s finally making a dent in Kai’s armor, she’s called in to investigate a crime involving a Southern Ute. Bailey’s vision of the crime devastates her. A lie would accuse an innocent friend of murder. The truth would forever alienate Kai.
